Location: the hotel was just off the old town, wonderful orchid and fern filled garden and the tasteful, eclectic and enviable artwork that peppers the walls and halls. I had coffee at Bar do Serginho, located within 15 minutes walk. I loved convenient placing of a minibar, an iron and ironing board, and a work desk in the deluxe apartment. I had a sumptuous and delightful breakfast with a mere tea and amazing view.

I stayed at Mama Ruisa for both ends of my trip, and it was a delightful experience. Located in the charming area of St. Theresa, away from the city center and beaches but easily accessible by tram. The colonial-style boutique hotel is filled with artsy decor and offers exquisite rooms. The staff, especially Valeria, Remy, and Rafael, were incredibly friendly, engaging. Truly a gem in the most trendy area of Rio.
Would recommend this hotel.

The value for money at this hotel was exceptional. The room was spacious, comfortable, and had a high-tech TV for entertainment. The location in the bohemian district of Santa Teresa was refreshing and offered great views. The staff was incredibly welcoming and accommodating, providing helpful recommendations for sightseeing and dining.
The breakfast menu could have been more varied, with a wider selection of options.

The hotel had a stylish and unique decor with a great collection of furniture and art. The staff was helpful in recommending restaurants and arranging transport. The location was convenient, close to the city centre and filled with local character.
The shower lacked a seal on the door, causing the bathroom floor to get wet while showering. the shower head was positioned too close to the wall, making it difficult to get a full shower experience.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The cleanliness was impeccable, with shared bathrooms always clean and free to use. The hotel facilities were great, including a delightful terrace where we had a quiet morning with breakfast and books. The location is perfect, within a 10-minute walk to the train station and extremely close to the center of the city and all of the attractions. Additionally, the hotel is near the food market, which is an excellent place to get breakfast.
Not obvious to find.

I recently stayed at Mama Ruisa Boutique in Rio for a week-long vacation. The hotel offers incredible views of the Sugar Loaf and a lovely Brazilian furniture collection. The owner, Jean Michel, and his team were extremely helpful and provided great recommendations for exploring the city. The pool and lounge areas were beautiful, and enjoying a fresh breakfast on the balcony was a perfect start to the day. a fantastic stay.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

The rooms were huge and had dope views of Rio. The hotel staff, especially Jean Michael, were mad cool and made us feel hella welcome. They even helped us plan our first day in Rio, so we didn't waste any time. The location in Santa Teresa was perfect for us to hit up some unusual programs like surf lessons in Arpoador and check out the Fluminense Football Club-Soccer Field. it was an epic vacation, fam!
The only thing that we would've liked more of is some turnt-up nightlife. We're young party animals, so it would've been dope if the hotel had some sick parties or hookups to get into the best clubs in Rio.

mama ruisa was a delightful surprise in rio. friendly staff, stunning views of sugar loaf, and a lovely brazilian furniture-filled room made it a perfect stay. the location in santa teresa was convenient for exploring the city and the refreshing pool was a great way to start the day. highly recommend!
Transparency lacked on room selection. booked well in advance but got a smaller, stuffy room that wasn't what we expected.

We were absolutely blown away by the beautiful decor and stylish design of Mama Ruisa Boutique. The attention to detail in every room was exceptional, creating a truly luxurious and unique atmosphere. The stunning views from our room added to the overall charm of the hotel.
It's worth mentioning that breakfast at Mama Ruisa Boutique was simply delightful. Although it was an additional cost, the setting by the pool made it a memorable experience.
